Hulk Hogan's No Holds Barred Featured A Cameo From A Young Buff Bagwell
In 1989, New Line Cinema released the Hulk Hogan-led film "No Holds Barred," which debuted at number two for the weekend of its release, and stayed in the top 10 the entire month, grossing a total of $13.8 million over four weeks. While Hogan was the most recognizable pro wrestler in the film, there were cameo appearances by a handful of grapplers.
Apart from WWF faces like Demolition Ax, "Mean" Gene Okerlund, and Tommy Lister, the movie had a cameo appearance that nobody noticed for 30 years. Ring announcer David Penzer tweeted that Buff Bagwell was one of the extras in the park scene where Hogan's character Rip Thomas has his first face-to-face confrontation with Lister’s Zeus.
Bagwell's cameo is a blink-and-miss affair, but it wasn't his last Hollywood appearance as he appeared in several movies during the "Monday Night Wars," as well as the hit WB TV show, "Charmed." After making his pro wrestling debut in 1990, Bagwell moved to WWE before being released in 2001.
