Promos That Live Rent-Free In Fans' Heads
Raw Is Jericho
On the August 9, 1999 edition of "Raw," Chris Jericho arrived at the WWF and immediately made the fans aware of his presence by interrupting The Rock in the middle of a promo. For the next three minutes, Jericho tore the then-current television product apart, noting that he had come to save WWF.
Hogan Forms The NWO
At WCW's Bash at the Beach 1996, Hulk Hogan joined forces with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, hitting the leg drop on Randy Savage to complete his heel turn. During his in-ring interview, he threw shade at the WWF and how the fans had grown disillusioned with him despite his efforts, adding, "You fans can stick it, brother!"
Miz's Talking Smack Promo
At the 2016 edition of the SmackDown post-show "Talking Smack," The Miz, provoked by Daniel Bryan, cut a scathing and passionate promo regarding his career and how he was perceived. Miz spat venom at Bryan and the WWE universe, noting how despite his various accomplishments, he'd never been given the respect he deserved.
Austin 3:16
After winning the 1996 Royal Rumble, Steve Austin insulted Jake "The Snake" Robert's gimmick of a born-again Christian and created a bible verse of his own, saying, "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!" The promo stands as one of the most memorable and marketable lines in all of professional wrestling to this day.
Heyman's ECW Speech
At ECW's 2005 One Night Stand, Paul Heyman delivered his most passionate promo where he thanked all the fans in attendance before tearing into the WWE opposition. From JBL to Edge, Heyman had a cutting comment for each of them, and closed his speech with the defiant cry, "This, my friends, is E-C-F****n-W."
