The 15 Best Wrestling Movies Of All Time, Ranked
15. No Holds Barred
Hulk Hogan’s “No Holds Barred” (1989) is an entertaining way to spend an evening, and a time capsule of WWF back in the late ‘90s, with cameos from several big names in the company. Retro Pro Wrestling wrote that the movie was “released at the height of the Hulkamania boom in order to ... propel its lead actor Hulk Hogan to Hollywood megastardom.”
14. Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies
“Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies” (2014) has received audience backlash and few critical reviews, but it's still a decent zombie movie with a lot of fun, gore, and cameos. Matt and Reby Hardy, Kurt Angle, and Shane Douglas, among others, play themselves and use their signature moves, making this movie more entertaining.
13. Ready to Rumble
Indirectly blamed for the downfall of World Championship Wrestling, “Ready to Rumble” (2000) features cameos from a ton of WCW stars, including Goldberg, Diamond Dallas Page, and Sting. Roger Ebert said, “The movie is best when it deals with professional wrestling and worst [...] when it prefers a wheezy prefab plot to the possibilities of its subject.”
12. The Main Event
A family movie aimed at the younger set of WWE fans, “The Main Event” (2020) stars child actor Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, and Adam Pally, with cameos from WWE superstars like Sheamus, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, and Keith Lee. Although Rotten Tomatoes gave it a low score, the movie has some cool spots, a few funny moments, and a heartwarming ending.
11. Cagefighter
Starring real-life MMA fighter Alex Montagnani and AEW's Jon Moxley, “Cagefighter: Worlds Collide” (2020) was praised for the performances of its leads and the use of real footage of MMA and AEW matches. Film Threat ranked it 6.5/10 and said it “delivered significantly more than CM Punk in a UFC fight.”
