The Marine Movies Ranked From Worst To Best
6. The Marine 2
Based on the 2001 Dos Palmas kidnappings, "The Marine 2" stars Ted DiBiase in his first acting role, but his obvious inexperience is what ranks this movie as the worst. Despite this, there is actually a lot to like including the plot, the director, and the cast, and with a better lead, it would be ranked much higher.
5. The Marine 4
After the third movie was surprisingly well received, fans were hopeful for the sequel, but even The Miz couldn't do anything to help save this one. "The Marine 4: Moving Target" has an unoriginal and boring script with annoying characters, and although it has twice as many villains, none are engaging.
4. The Marine 5
"The Marine 5: Battleground" has the most WWE Superstars of all the movies, with Naomi, Maryse, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, and Heath Slater, and they actually pull in good performances as villainous bikers opposing The Miz. However, the movie has a boring setting with most of the action taking place in a parking garage.
3. The Marine
It's evident that "The Marine" is John Cena's first acting role, but lead villain Robert Patrick of "Terminator" gives a confident performance, even if he is hamstrung by a basic script and predictable plot. Every character is one-dimensional, but the action in the movie is exceptional with impressive set pieces.
2. The Marine 6
The final movie, "The Marine 6: Close Quarters," features a gripping performance by Becky Lynch as the villain and Shawn Michaels as a world-weary marine that has great chemistry with The Miz. The action in this film has a lot of hand-to-hand close combat rather than the over-the-top explosions of previous films, benefitting the movie.
